SNAP – Stop Now and Plan
Stop Now and Plan (SNAP) is an evidenced-based, cognitive-behavioural model developed and owned by Child Development Institute (CDI) and licensed to Tropicana, funded through the Ontario Black Youth Action Plan.
The program is designed for children aged 6-11 who are engaging in disruptive, anti-social behaviour and/or who have come into contact with authority figures at school, home or in the community. Staff work with each family to assess challenges and problems and develop an action plan. With the goal of preventing future anti-social behaviour and reducing the chances of conflict, children and their parents will participate in SNAP Boys/Girls Groups and SNAP Parenting Group. Where required, they will also participate in individual and family counseling.
Staff will also provide school advocacy and teach support, crisis intervention and victim restitution.
