Article 2. Membership in Tropicana
2.03 Annual Member
(a) Subject to section 2.01, a person is eligible tobe a Member where he/she pays toTropicana the annual membership fee for individuals, being an amount to be determined from time to time by resolution of the Board.
(b) An annual membership in Tropicana shall be effective only from April 1 in one year to March 31 in the following year.
(c) A Member who pays his fees annually shall be entitled to vote at any meeting of Tropicana unless the membership fee was not paid in full prior to the meeting.
2.04 Life member (Individual)
(a) A person is eligible to be a Life Member (Individual) where that person in any one (1) year has collectively donated to Tropicana a sum of money as may be determined from time to time by resolution of the Board;
(b) Past Presidents of the Board shall be awarded Life Membership in recognition of their contributions to Tropicana.
(c) Founding Members of the Board as recognized by the resolution of the Board, shall be appointed asLife Members.
2.05 Honorary Member
(a) Honorary Members shall not be subject to any membership fees whatsoever.
(b) The length of time that an Honorary Membership is effective shall be determined from time to time by resolution of the Board.
(c) Honorary Members shall not be eligible to vote except in circumstances mandated by statutoryregulations.

Objectives of Tropicana
The objectives of Tropicana are as follows:
(a) To promote and foster self-reliance, self-determination, and self-sufficiency among its stakeholders;
(b) To work for the removal of barriers to educational and career opportunities and for the elimination of negative racial stereotypes;
(c) To adopt, support and foster the development of economic resources for the benefit of its stakeholders;
(d) To promote and foster the development of culturally appropriate community services, to meet our objectives;
(e) To provide counselling and support, and assist in the development of skills and capabilities of its stakeholders; and
(f) To provide such other community services as are required by the communities served by the Corporation, in accordance with all applicable legislation as may be amended from time to time.

The mission of Tropicana:
Tropicana Community Services is to provide “all youth, newcomers, people of Black and Caribbean heritage and others in need with opportunities and alternatives that lead to success and positive life choices. Our mission is achieved through culturally appropriate programs such as counselling, child care, educational and employment services and youth development.”

Code of Conduct
Tropicana Community Services is committed to providing a learning and working environment for all persons that is free from harassment.
Tropicana Community Services requires employees, members, volunteers, participants and all other visitors to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes and protects the best interests and well being of employees, members, volunteers and participants.
As a condition of membership, all members must accept the following responsibilities:
- Always treat others fairly and with respect;
- Always consider safety and the safety of your peers;
- Show support for Canada and your community;
- Demonstrate self-discipline and self-respect;
- Attend meetings regularly and be on time; and
- Participate in all activities to the best of your abilities.
Failure to follow your responsibilities, as outlined above, will result in corrective action, as deemed appropriate by corps staff. Repeat or serious offences may cause you to lose your membership privileges.
