This workshop is a skills development, educational upgrade, and great general job search overview and offers participants the chance to sign up for courses such as:

Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act Information Session
The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) was enacted to expand the government’s mission to offer full accessibility to all disabled Ontarians by 2025. This workshop will cover basic information about AODA, comprehensive details about its standards, and the benefits they offer Ontarians.
Better Jobs Ontario Information Session
This Better Jobs Ontario supports individuals who have been laid off and are struggling to find employment through training and financial support. During this information session attendees will learn about:
- Eligibility and suitability
- The financial needs assessment
- The return-to-work action plan
- The application processes
- The labour market prospects indicator
Cash Register Training
This workshop helps attendees gain an understanding of:
- The basic functions of a cash register
- General customer service skills
- Basic math skills

Career Development Workshop
This workshop will guide you in developing a career action plan based on your interests, skill set, as well as your short— and long-term goals. You will also learn about SMART goals and receive assistance in developing a set of SMART goals for yourself. This workshop is ideal for those struggling to find employment, or who have been laid off, or those thinking about starting a second career.
Customer Service Excellence™ Training
This program aims to develop service skills to ensure consistent service delivery to customers. It helps create a consistent service standard within an organization and provides employees with tools and techniques that help to build customer loyalty. Certificates and lapel pins are provided by Ontario Tourism Education Training to passing participants.
Ethics at Work Workshop
This workshop helps participants understand the concept of an ethical dilemma, and how to ensure career choices do not affect your professional image negatively. It includes discussions about how being ethical relates to professionalism. The attendees will complete challenges and practice making ethical decisions in simulated work-related situations. Infection Control Training
Many workers have a risk of contracting an infectious disease from the common cold to COVID, in the course of their duties or in their work environment. This course provides participants with prevention and control measures that will help them protect themselves from occupational exposure to infectious diseases.This online training course includes a 39 minute lecture section and a 15 -60 minute quiz section and is designed to help you learn at your own pace, in your own environment, and at your convenience.

Mock Interview Session
Get an opportunity to practice answering interview questions and get helpful feedback from an employment counsellor.
Money Matters
Money—it’s hard to earn and easy to spend. You will need a budget and SMART financial goals to help secure your financial future. After taking this course, you will be able to:

In this one-on-one Resume and Cover letter critique, an employment counsellor will review your documents and provide you with helpful, constructive feedback.
ServSafe®: Food Handling Workshop
This workshop designed for people who work in the hospitality industry reviews ways to prevent food-related illness and helps develop and implement a food safety system at the workplace.Certificates are provided by TRAINCAN, Inc.
This program has a fee of $32.00/person.
Slips, Trips, & Fall Protection Training
This 30-minute course is available in both English and French and covers accident prevention. During this course you will learn about:
- The definitions of slips, trips, and falls
- The three different types of falls
- Control measures to reduce the risk of a slip, trip or fall.
- Risk factors for slips, trips, and falls in the workplace
- Applicable legislation and regulations
- The duties of the employer, supervisor, worker, and the safety rep to prevent slips and falls.
A certificate is issued to participants upon completion.
Smart Serve® Training
This training course is for people who work or volunteer in an environment in which alcoholic beverages are served. The course helps people to develop proactive approaches to preventing alcohol-related problems, to recognize signs of intoxication, and to implement intervention strategies for aggressive customers.A certificate and lapel pin are provided by Smart Serve Ontario.
This program has a fee of $22.50/person.
Social Media Job Search Workshop
This workshop reviews the importance and role of social media in your job search, and how your social media presence can help or hurt your career.
TRIEC Mentorship Information Session
If you are an immigrant with a professional background, the TRIEC Mentoring Partnership* can help you continue with your career in Canada with the support of a mentor from your field. Seventy-five percent of participants find a job in their professional field within one year of completing this program.A mentor can help you:
- Understand Canadian industry trends
- Develop more effective job search strategies
- Build your professional network
- Find ways of leveraging your experience and skills
You are eligible if you:
- Have 2+ years of international experience in your professional field
- Have lived in Canada for less than five years
- Are unemployed or underemployed and looking to reconnect with your career
Are you eligible to work in Canada, and looking for a summer or part-time job? Youth Job Connection Summer and After School Program serves youth aged 15 to 18 who may be experiencing challenges in finding employment. Join this information session and learn how the program works and what it has to offer.
- Earn $15.00/hour while receiving 20 hours of pre-employment training

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
This is an online e-learning training course that consists of a 36 minute training session and a 15-60 minute quiz session. It provides employers and workers insight on the hazardous products or chemicals they may be exposed to at work and all the requirements of WHMIS to keep you safe. Employers must pass the information about workplace hazardous products on to their employees and provide worker education programs to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses.
Workplace Health & Safety Training
This training course is designed to introduce employees to the
Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and is focused on the health and safety rights and responsibilities of workers, supervisors, and employers and is a general introduction to workplace health and safety. This course was developed by the Ministry of Labour. A certificate of proof of completion is awarded at the end of the course from the Ministry of Labour.
Workplace Safety Inspections
This training course is available in English and French and is 50 minutes long. Every worker has a responsibility to keep an eye out for workplace hazards, but if you are a health and safety representative or a supervisor, you are accountable when it comes to workplace safety. This course will assist all in understanding best practices when it comes to workplace safety.
- Understand the responsibilities of the employer, supervisor, worker, and the safety representative as they would apply to inspections
- Learn about the legislation that would apply to Ontario workplaces
- Learn how to prepare for an inspection
- Become familiar with “conducting” a workplace inspection
- Understand the reporting process
- Become familiar with preparing recommendations
- Learn the value of following up and monitoring regarding workplace safety
- Learn about the different types of inspections
A certificate is issued upon completion.
Violence Awareness for Workers
This course is available in English and French and is 30 minutes in length. Violence and harassment can happen in any workplace. Understanding what violence and harassment are and how to deal with them is important. After taking this course, attendees should have a good understanding of the following:
- Definitions and legislation related to both workplace harassment and workplace violence
- Various types of workplace violence
- The impact of violence in the workplace
- Duties of the employer, supervisor, worker, and the safety representative
- Strategies to address harassment in the workplace
- Legislation that applies to violence in the workplace
- Domestic violence in the workplace—what it is and steps to help minimize the risk
- Work refusals—as it relates to workplace violence
A certificate is issued upon completion.
