Sessions run every Tuesday and Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m.

Winter Term 2024

The Increase Your Success tutoring program offers academic assistance via one-on-one Zoom sessions and in-person group sessions, for mathematics, science, and language arts (English).

Increase Your Success tutoring provides students with:

  • A pre-assessment session, to determine a learning plan tailored to their needs.
  • One-on-one online sessions via Zoom are available for students that need individual attention or who can not attend our in-person classes, allowing them to follow their learning plan, learn at their own pace, and focus on any areas of difficulty.
  • Onsite group sessions support students in following their learning plans in a supportive and social environment.
  • Effective study and time management techniques to further aid them in their educational goals.
  • Help with school-assigned homework and projects so they don’t fall behind.

Details

General Information:

  • Spaces for this program are limited.
  • Our volunteer tutors are a mix of postsecondary students and teaching professionals.
  • Parent-tutor meetings scheduled to discuss student progress. Tutoring is available for three 8-week terms from September to November, January to March, and March to May.

One-on-one (1:1) online sessions:

  • Online sessions are available via Zoom every Tuesday and Thursday. from 4:15-5:15 p.m., and 4:30-5:30 p.m.
  • Online tutoring costs $40 per term per student.

In-person group (6:1) sessions:

  • In-person tutoring is available every Saturday, for 1-hour between 10:00am-1:00pm, at our head office location.
  • In-person tutoring costs $50 per term per student.

Program goals:

  • Provide students with the support, resources, and tools that will help them achieve academic success throughout their primary and high school years and beyond.
  • Build self-confidence, self-respect, and enthusiasm for education.
  • Help students build strong studying and learning techniques.

Registration Process

  1. Complete and submit the form below
  2. Once submitted, a Tropicana representative will contact you in 1–2 business days and provide you with the necessary administrative forms to complete.  As Tropicana operates with the support of funders/sponsors, you will need to supply additional information for our reporting requirements and to determine if you meet program eligibility criteria. All personal information is kept confidential. 
  3. Once your registration is confirmed, if required, a representative will assist you with the payment process (we accept e-transfer or debit/credit card).

Please note your program registration is not complete until it is confirmed by Tropicana.
