netWORKS Orientation & Mentor Led Session, 10:00 a.m. -1:30 p.m.

April 7, 2025- Virtual Workshop

Employment Rights with Genevieve D’Iorio – Workers’ Health and Safety Legal Clinic , 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

This workshop is a grounding session that looks to help workers identify their employment rights, be aware of problems related to their rights and how to get free legal help. It’s one thing to know what your rights are, it quite another to know how to approach a difficult situation at work. The topics that are touched upon go beyond the employment contracts and minimum standards but also highlight industry-specific issues like employee misclassification, optional agreements, job scams and special rules

This workshop will guide you in developing a career plan based on your interests, skill set, as well as your short— and long-term goals and will explain:

The financial literacy workshop provides participants with essential knowledge and skills to manage their personal finances effectively. The topics that will be discussed include budgeting, saving, debt management, credit scores, and how to navigate your relationship with money.
