March Break & Summer Camp

Our camp programs provide children, ages 4 to 13, with an experience that is educational, creative, physically stimulating, and full of fun! The program is designed not only to help keep children active, but to encourage and promote personal growth.

Education

Online and On-site Tutoring

Our Increase Your Success tutoring program for youth in grades 1-12 (ages 6–18), offers academic assistance via one-on-one Zoom sessions and on-site group sessions. Tutoring is available for mathematics, science, and language arts (English).

Onsite Coding Workshop

Our onsite Coding program for grades 4–8 (ages 9–13). introduces students to the world of computer programming. It is designed to foster creativity and imagination. During the weekly workshops students will explore various computer programming languages.

Onsite STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

Our onsite STEM program is for grades 4–8 (ages 9–13).  It focuses on S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering, and math) related project work.

Pre-apprenticeship – Auto Body & Collision Damage Repairer

This program is open to youth 18-30 years old. It is tuition free, as it is funded by the Government of Ontario, and is designed as a stepping-stone to finding a full apprenticeship for its participants. 

The Reading Partnership

A free 10-week online (via Zoom) play-based program that guides parents through the process of teaching their children (ages 4–6) to read.

Development

Defy Your Label

Defy Your Label is a free, 8-week program that offers youth in grades 4-8 (ages 9 -13) guidance in their personal growth. The program is designed with the end goal of participants achieving the skills that will aid them in leading happier and more positive lives.

Gentlemen’s Forum—Leadership by Example

This program provides a space for male identifying participants 18 years and over, to share their experiences and learn how to deal with gender relations, cultural identify, and leadership.

Rise Above

Rise Above is a free, 8-week program for youth in grades 9-12 (ages 14–18), that focuses on the transition from adolescence to adulthood. The program is designed with the end goal of participants achieving the skills that will aid them in leading more positive and successful lives.

SNAP – Stop Now and Plan

Providing support for Black, African, and Caribbean children, ages 6 -11, who have behaviours that could result in conflict at home, school or in the community.

START for Life Skills Training (Success Through ART® Aggression Replacement Training®)

A 10-week life-skills series that provides participants with instruction to enhance the social skills necessary for good interpersonal communication, anger control, and decision-making. Program activities include reflective discussions, role modelling and demonstrations.

Together We Can Youth Mentorship

This program supports Black, African, and Caribbean children and youth, ages 9 to 25, to make healthy and safe life choices, increase resiliency, and make progress toward identified goals through culturally relevant mentorship.

Youth Mentorship

This program is for youth 12-24 years old and is culturally focused. It deals with anti-black racism and was created to support individuals that identify as a member of the Black community.

Employment

Employment Services

This program helps individuals 15 years and older meet the challenges of an ever-changing job market and guides young job seekers from resume to interview and more.

Youth Job Connection (YJC)

This program helps youth aged 15-29, who are currently not employed or in school, and may be interested in this employment and training opportunity. This program aids those who have experienced multiple or complex barriers to gaining employment by providing support beyond job search assistance and placement opportunities.

Youth Job Connection Summer & After School (YJCS)

This program helps youth aged 15-18, currently in school, and seeking a part-time or summer job. This program aids those who have experienced multiple or complex barriers to gaining employment by providing support beyond job search assistance and placement opportunities.

netWORKS

This program is for youth ages of 18 and 29 who are looking for ways to get ahead in their job or start a career. This program is all about providing opportunities to make connections and to learn from mentors from across different industries and disciplines.

Recreation

Steel Pan/Steelpan Lessons

Our steel pan/steelpan lessons are for anyone who wishes to learn to play ages 9–65+. Classes are available for beginner, intermediate, and advanced learners.

Wellness & Mental Health

Individual & Family Counselling

Tropicana’s counselling service provides a safe and confidential space to work on life’s challenges. We aid participants of all ages in identifying aspects of their lives in need of change or that require ways in which to cope.

Women Empowering Women

A forum for women ages 18 and over to come together in a supportive manner to raise their awareness of issues, share information, learn, and interact in an enriching environment.

Enhanced Youth Outreach Worker

This program offers one-on-one clinical counselling for high-risk Black youth ages 9 to 25 and their families to prevent youth from further risk/violence. The EYOW works with Black youth to develop and enhance their identity, culture, and sense of belonging to their community as a protective factor in their movement through the stages of change.

Transitional Housing & Support

Free transitional and housing support for abused women (aged 16+) and their dependents.
